North Huntsville bank burglarized

First Franklin Financial on Mastin Lake Road in South Huntsville was burglarized some time between close of business Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the scene around 5 a.m. Wednesday and found that the front door glass was broken out.

Officers said a rock was used to break the glass. The burglar or burglars propped open the rear doors and burglarized the business.

Management responded to the scene and confirmed that cash and other items had been taken.

Robbery Task Force investigates residential robbery

Huntsville Police say a 20-year-old many was robbed in his apartment on Hunters Ridge Drive Tuesday afternoon.

The victim told officers that two men forced their way into his apartment and attempted to assault him before they took property from the apartment.

The victim was not injured in the robbery.

The incident is being investigated by the Robbery Task Force of the Huntsville Police Department.

A hearing underway in Huntsville could determine if heart patients will have a new option for their care.

Huntsville Hospital is contesting Crestwood Hospital's efforts for an angioplasty program. Crestwood wants to offer the service on a non-emergency basis.

Testimony is being given in a trial-like setting which is expected to continue Friday.

State health officials will then make a recommendation on Crestwood's request to the Certificate of Need Review Board.

Appraiser looks for space memorabilia in Rocket City

A search is on for space memorabilia in the Rocket City.

Regency Superior will hold a free appraisal clinic this weekend in Huntsville. The clinic is an effort to find items related to space exploration that the company can put up for auction this summer.

Regency Superior Appraiser Alan Lipkin says now is the time to sell memorabilia since prices are at an all-time high.

Lipkin said space memorabilia prices have been rising at a rate of 5-to-10% a year for the last 20 years.

"It is a great way to increase your wealth," said Lipkin.

Lipkin has visited Huntsville half-a-dozen times in recent years and said he likes to see items related to Dr.

Strip mall in Hampton Cove burglarized

Strip mall in Hampton Cove burglarized

Criminals strike at a strip mall in Hampton Cove.

They broke into four shops Monday overnight. The break-ins happened on Highway 431 South.

Police said two offices, a medical facility and a music store, were burglarized.

Police got the call about the break-ins when workers started arriving Tuesday morning.

So far, no word on what was taken.

Police don't have any suspects in these burglaries.
