'We Go Glee' raises money for American Cancer Society

"We Go Glee," an evening of music, entertainment and fun will raise money for The American Cancer Society. Illumination Productions Presents the event on June 5th at 2:30 p.m. at the Huntsville Museum of Art.

United Way looking for tornado relief volunteers

United Way of Madison County is extending the Saturday, June 11th volunteer registration hours. Volunteers register from 7am-9am at 701 Andrew Jackson Way. There, volunteers are grouped with a chainsaw operator and given a debris clean-up assignment.

Huntsville Police investigate burglary

Huntsville police are investigating a burglary to an occupied dwelling in the 1900 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

A 19-year-old woman told police that an unknown man forced his way into her apartment and took her property.

She said the offender fled the apartment when the victim heard a noise and went to investigate.

HPD South Precinct are looking into the incident.

HAMACON returns to Huntsville

Huntsville's biggest and brightest anime convention, HAMACON, is back for its second year at Huntsville's downtown Holiday Inn. The anime (Japanese cartoons) industry is at its peak here in the US.

It will take place June 3-5 at Holiday Inn Downtown.

There will be guests from the anime voice industry and performing artists, places to buy lots of goods and works of art, and there's even a "secret" wedding! They will also have a charity to benefit the American Red Cross, so proceeds will go to both the local relief fund and the relief for Japan.

Historic building moved at Burritt on the Mountain

Don Kennedy and Sons will be moving the “Meals Cabin” at Burritt on The Mountain between 10 AM and 12 PM today. The move will take place on the museum property. We'll have pictures of it later today.
