All lanes, east and west bound on I-565 are now open.

Committed in Huntsville!

The winners of the NBC show, "The Sing Off", and Oakwood College singing group, Committed will be in Huntsville tonight!

The Nationally acclaimed singing group will be at The Zone at Bridge Street Town Centre to say "thank you" to Huntsville for helping them win the national singing competition with a free concert.

School closings

Huntsville City Schools will be closed Thursday, January 13th due to winter weather.

Virginia College will resume classes on Tuesday, January 18th.

Grace Luthern School will be closed Thursday, January 13th.

Oakwood University closing

The Oakwood University campus will close at 3:00 p.m. today, January 12th, including registration offices. The campus will reopen tomorrow, January 13, at 10:00 a.m. Classes resume on Tuesday, January 18th.

Church closings

Willowbrook Baptist Church will not have services Wednesday, January 12th due to winter weather.

Southside Baptist Church will not have services Wednesday, January 12th.

Jackson Way Baptist Church will not hold services Wednesday, January 12th.

All Wednesday activities are cancelled at Hillwood Baptist Church.

Calvary Bible Church in Huntsville no evening service. No awana.

Garbage & trash collection

The City of Huntsville’s Department of Public Works restarted the sanitation schedule today. Public Works is working to collect Monday’s garbage and trash today (Wednesday).

Every effort will be made to reach all areas of the collection schedule, weather permitting, but some hilly areas may be presently unreachable due to road conditions.
