Trio arrested for string of burglaries

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Three people were arrested after a string of burglaries in Jackson and Madison Counties.

According to investigators, 32-year-old Anthony Ray Metcalf, 27-year-old Laura Anne Rogers of Fayetteville, Tennessee, and 45-year-old Robert Dale Jarvis of New Market were arrested at the Knights Inn in Huntsville on several charges of burglary and theft.

Jackson County investigators said the trio were caught on video burglarizing a home in the 200 block of County Road 8 in Woodville on May 8th. They were driving a car with a Mississippi license plate that was rented from a business in Huntsville.

The victim reported a loss of about $9,600 worth of property. Investigators recovered all of the stolen property, except a circular saw, from a Huntsville pawn shop.

After searching other pawn shops, investigators recovered more stolen property that connected the suspects to more burglaries in Madison County.

Police investigate robbery in Huntsville

Officers responded to a robbery call Saturday night in the 500 block of Chateau drive.

The victim told police that a man pulled a gun on him and took his cell phone.

No injuries were reported. Police are continuing to investigate.

Police investigate 2 overnight burglaries

Police are investigating two overnight business burglaries in Huntsville.

Officers responded to the Budget Inn on University Drive overnight Wednesday. The owner told police that someone broke into the office by breaking a window and stole property.

The second burglary reportedly happened at the T-Mobile on Whitesburg Drive. Officers found the front glass window broken out after responding to an alarm activation. According to investigators, the suspect entered the business and stole several cell phones.

No arrests have been made, both cases remain under investigation.

Huntsville Police investigate T-Mobile burglary

Huntsville Police investigate T-Mobile burglary

Huntsville Police are trying to find the person who burglarized a T-Mobile Store.

The burglary happened around 11 p.m. Monday night at the store on South Memorial Parkway.

Officers responded to an alarm call, and when they arrived on scene, they saw the store's front door had been broken. Several items were taken.

Police have not made any arrests. Anyone with information should call Huntsville Police.

Man robbed, hit by gunman in Huntsville home invasion

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Huntsville police are looking for two men who robbed a man inside his home.

Police say the home invasion happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday on the 4100 block of Newson Road.

The victim, Eliobet Hernandez, told officers two men forced their way into his home.

One of the men pointed a gun at Hernandez and told him to lie on the ground.

Police say at one point, the man with the gun hit Hernandez in the head. He was not seriously hurt.

Police say the men took some items, then walked away.

Man indicted on sex charges

Huntsville, AL (WAFF) - A Huntsville man will stand trial on child enticement charges.

Quincy Lamar Erskine was indicted by the Madison County grand jury this week.

According to Huntsville Police investigators, Erskine knocked on a door on Clopton Street in October of 2011. They say he was there looking for a 13 year old child to have sex with him. The victim recognized him, and slammed the door in his face. Police picked him up a short time later and charged with with enticing a child for immoral purposes.
