Huntsville Police arrested Arnold Donta Hines for the second time in 16 days. Hines was arrested for aggravated child abuse on October 15. Halloween night, Hines was booked into the Metro Jail on a charge of torture/willful child abuse.
Huntsville Police tell us investigators uncovered new evidence and added the second charge.
Police say Hines beat a child because of bad grades. Court documents state the 6-year-old victim was beaten with a belt and wooden paddle. Injuries listed include bruises, lacerations, three skull fractures, a lacerated liver, and two cerebral hematomas.
Hines posted a $30,000 bond on October 19. His bond for the most recent charge is set at $50,000.
