One of our viewers saw these bins in the parking lot of Star Market on Bailey Cove this morning.  The bins are for Green Mountain Glass.  The viewer says they do all sorts of stuff with recycled glass, including using it as mulch at the Huntsville Botanical Garden.  Their facility is up on Meridian Street, above Alabama A&M University.  The viewer says : "at least someone’s doing something with glass, since the City of Huntsville’s recycling program doesn’t take it."

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'" On Monday, Jan. 17, the 25th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr. Day becoming a federal holiday, people across the country will be working to answer that question.

In 1994 Congress designated the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday, observed the third Monday of January, as a national day of service and charged the Corporation for National and Community Service with leading the effort.
