Broken sprinkler ignites Wendy's parking lot battle | News
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- A broken sprinkler head has blown into a full blown battle over a parking lot.
"Someone accidentally parked on their sprinkler and broke it and I offered to pay for it," said Rhonda Brewster, owner of Kidventure in Huntsville.
Brewster said that's what ignited a battle over the Wendy's parking lot.
Kidventure is an indoor playground that caters to parents and children. Business is going so well their parking lot is usually full.
"Our customers started parking in the lot behind Wendy's," said Brewster.
However, last week management posted signs threatening to tow anyone who is not a Wendy's customer. The next closest lot to Kidventure is across a busy street.
Brewster thought the problem was over when she emailed Wendy's corporate office and was given the ok to park in the lot.
"I sent them pictures for two weeks showing them how empty it is saying, 'Can we please use it?'" she said.
But Brewster said the restaurant's manager has held firm on their threat to tow away her customers.
Brewster is now looking to relocate her business.
"They're getting business from us because of our proximity. It would just be nice if we could just work together," she said.
