HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Saturday, a truck with an engine made in the Rocket City will tow the Space Shuttle Endeavour on the craft's final mission.
A 2012 Tundra Crew Max, half ton pickup will be used.
The 5.7 liter V8 engine was made here in North Alabama.
Workers said they have no doubt their engine can do the job.
"We feel pretty confident that with this space shuttle, it'll do a great job. Our team members take great pride in putting in quality in every engine that we build," said production manager, Roland Rice.
Toyota workers said they didn't make any alterations to the engine. It's exactly like the one in the model Tundra Crew Max that can be bought off the lot.
