HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Deputies with the
Madison County Sheriff's Department traded in their badges for aprons Saturday
afternoon to help benefit Special Olympics programs.
The benefit was part of
the Tip-A-Cop program sponsored at Red Robin Gourmet Burger restaurants.
All the tip proceeds
will go to raise money and public awareness for athletes in the Alabama Special
Olympics.
"To help defer travel
costs, they compete all across the nation, all around the world and if we can
help them raise that money so they can still compete and give their all at
their competitions that's what we are going to do," said Deputy Stacy
Rutherford.
Deputies served at
locations in Bridgestreet and on Carl T. Jones Drive.
