Pre-filed bill aims to allow gun owners to store, transport firearms
A North Alabama lawmaker has pre-filed a bill that would prohibit employers and property owners from having policies prohibiting people from lawfully transporting or storing guns in their vehicles.
If passed, the law would also reinstate employment and provide compensation for people fired because the stored or transported a firearm on private or company property.
The law would also provide limited immunity for employers.
The bill is co-sponsored by Sen. Roger Bedford (D-Russellville) and Rep. Craig Ford (D-Gadsden).
