Regions Bank on South Memorial Parkway robbed | News
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Huntsville Police responded to a bank robbery at Regions Bank on South Memorial Parkway at Bob Wallace Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police said a man went to the counter and handed the teller a note demanding money. She handed him an unknown amount of money, and he left on foot.
They found a jacket matching the one the robber was wearing in a trash can behind the Huntsville Times building.
They said no weapon was ever shown, and no one was injured.
Cotton States Insurance is right next door to Regions. Jason Williams said everyone was getting ready to go home when he saw flashing lights go by.
"We were just sitting in the office and just saw a bunch of cop cars pulling into the bank, and that's the first we heard of it," Williams said.
Williams isn't just a neighbor to the bank, he's a customer.
"It was pretty scary," he said. "I don't know much about what happened yet, but it's kind of frightening being right next door to a bank robbery."
Police are still searching for the robber. They describe him as a white male who is possibly in his late 20s, around 6' tall and around 200 pounds. He has dark hair with a medium complexion with acne scars along the left side of his face.
