Civil lawsuit against Isaac Holdsambeck set for trial | News

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- The man sentenced to one year in jail for a wreck that killed his friend will go to court to face a civil lawsuit in February.

A Madison County judge granted Isaac Holdsambeck youthful offender status for the 2010 wreck that killed Mohammad Fulladi.

Holdsambeck was 19 at the time of the crash. According to investigators, he picked up four passengers from an after-prom party about 4:30 in the morning. Passengers said he had been drinking and smoking marijuana.

Holdsambeck's passengers also said he was driving recklessly. Holdsambeck ran off the road in Hampton Cove, hit some trees and rolled his vehicle. All of his passengers were ejected.

Toxicology reports show Holdsambeck's blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit at .15.

Fulladi's parents filed a civil lawsuit against Holdsambeck. That case will go to trial February 25.

A second lawsuit filed by a passenger in that wreck was dismissed at the request of all of the parties involved.
