HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Huntsville Police have arrested a man suspected of the murder of Larry "LaChris" Cole.

Police arrested 18-year-old Mardez Latrey Hobbs Friday.

Cole was found shot to death at a Huntsville recording studio on Poole Drive on December 4, 2012. Police said he suffered multiple gun shot wounds.

Cole was an aspiring rapper who friends said was really making a
name in the music business. They said they are happy an arrest has been made,
but they said it's bittersweet because they still don't have their friend back.

"He was an awesome artist," said friend, Shawntey Euell. "And the
local venues still keep him alive and alert by playing his music.  You can
go on there and you can actually hear him.  It's not the same as having
him on stage, but yes, he was making a name for himself."

Hobbs was arrested and charged with murder. He remains in the Madison County Jail on $75,000 bond.
