Former Huntsville school board president dies
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- The city of Huntsville is mourning the passing of Ed Starnes.
Starnes served as the president of the Huntsville City School Board from 1977 to 1990.
He also served 22 years on the city's planning commission before resigning last fall after being diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
He was also a respected watercolor artist.
Starnes was 79 years old.
