Madison Arts Council annouces 'Love Art' Membership Drive

Madison Arts Council annouces 'Love Art' Membership Drive

Along with being incredibly awesome at finding local places to shop and spend my money and sharing that on-line, I also happen to be passionate about the arts.   Now all across the Tennessee Valley there are local groups that support the arts, but what those groups need are YOUR support.

You may know about The Arts Council and how they put on Panoply, concerts in the park, the SPACES trail and Art on the Square.  Those things don’t just happen.  They take time, money, and volunteers to make these events possible for the public.

In my neck of the woods, they have the Madison Arts Council.  They are hosting a Love Art Membership Drive.  What/Who is the Madison Arts Council?

GHHS Dog Ball: More fun than a brand new squeaker

GHHS Dog Ball: More fun than a brand new squeaker

Do a little prance, get a little treat, get down tonight, get down tonight! If you are looking for an event that has gone to the dogs, or if you want a pawsatively perfect night – look no further than the Greater Huntsville Humane Society’s 24th Annual Dog Ball.

This is the major fundraiser for the GHHS.  The event will be held on Friday, February 8th , and this year the theme is “Disco Down with the Hounds.”   You can purchase tickets for $75 online and the dress is cocktail attire.

Now if you are unsure about what happens at a Dog Ball, Tammie Berzett, the 2013 event chair, threw me a bone and told me exactly what happens.

Guests arrive at the Von Braun Center South Hall at 5:45 p.m.  Guests are able to purchase cocktails and start bidding on silent auction items.  There are over 100 things to bid on this year.
